Banana & Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

Standard

They call summer  “dog days” – so why not make something tasty for your dog? Our hound is huge fan of peanut butter and bananas. You know, I think Elvis was too… Anyhow! These are a snap to mix up and bake in the oven. True, it’s steamy hot outside – but if you do your baking at night or in the morning, it’s not bad at all. Hope your pooch enjoys!

Banana & Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 whole banana, peeled & mashed

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup water

2 Tbl. ground flax seeds

pinch cinnamon (optional)

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.  Combine all ingredients in a food processor until well mixed, or stir by hand. By hand, roll dough into about 36 to 40 small balls and flatten with your palm on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned. Cookies will be soft inside. Store in fridge and feed to happy hound dog as desired!

  1. My dog steals bananas off the counter-top, steals loaves of whole wheat bread and loves peanut butter. I never thought of making him his own treats. Go figure, maybe he is just waiting for me to bake him up this combo!

    • Our dog always used to steal butternut squash! They know what they like! He will think you are brilliant once they all come in one delicious form!

      • Can’t wait! Making these today. Silly dogs. Mine thinks he is a vegetarian 😉

I love that your dog stole the butternut, makes me feel more normal!
